James Alexander Hoffmann is an English businessman, author, barista, online influencer and coffee consultant. As the managing director of Square Mile Coffee Roasters, Hoffmann has grown a multi-award-winning coffee roasting company based in East London. He is also the World Barista Champion 2007, having won the UK Barista competition in both 2006 and 2007. 

As Hoffman's first book, The World Atlas of Coffee examines key factors of how coffee is harvested and processed can influence the taste of what we drink. Sharing global methods, techniques and expertise from various coffee producers around the world, Hoffman shares how differences in terroir and roasting methods can affect how coffee is consumed.
