current coffee - Muhororo
A pleasingly juicy cup, offering brighter notes than expected from this high-grade Burundi lot.
Bordering Rwanda, Congo and Tanzania, the tiny country of Burundi with its hills and high plateaus is so far thankfully exempt from the problems of water shortage so common in much of East Africa. A country of rich volcanic soils, much of its production has now turned to fully washed processing through government plans to incentivise higher-quality lots across the origin.
The Muhororo washing station in the Gasenyi region works with 1188 farmers from the area. Growing mainly Bourbon, cherries are picked at full maturity and delivered quickly to the station for processing before storage in Gitega or Bujumbura.
Store in a cool, dry place.
In nitrogen-flushed, valveless bags, oxygen content is reduced to under 3%, preserving optimal quality for up to 9 months.
Once open we recommend using within 7 days.
These coffees are shipped within 4 weeks of roasting and packing.
Free UK shipping for all orders £35 and over. Shipping costs calculated at checkout - tracked options available.
