Filadelfia Washed, Guatemala
A clean and sweet cup with bright green fruit acidity, elevated by a subtle warmed spice finish.
This is our second time showcasing this coffee. We were very impressed when we released it last year and it continues to shine. This lot of Bourbon, Caturra and Gesha was brought to us through Marta Dalton at Coffee Bird. Marta is the great-great-great-granddaughter of Finca Filadelfia’s founder, Manuel Matheu. Like most farms in Guatemala, they originally harvested cochineal, a scale insect from which the natural dye carmine is derived. Six generations later, the farm is still owned and ran by the same family.
