018 - CGLE Hybrid 17 Washed '22

This fruit forward coffee offers a sweet syrupy acidity, long botanical aromatics and elegance throughout.

We are pleased to reintroduce the CGLE Hybrid 17 Washed ‘22 as part of our 2024 Limited Release Rare Series. Harvested from the highest plots at CGLE’s Potosi farm, this Caturra Gesha hybrid is preserved through our strategic freezing process. By storing small amounts of special green coffee in our freezers at the roastery, we ensure the CGLE Hybrid 17 Washed ‘22 maintains its high quality over time. These batches are periodically roasted and sampled for our cafe Freezer menus. The CGLE Hybrid 17 Washed ‘22 has become a particularly impressive and globally sought-after coffee, making it a standout choice for our Limited Release Rare Series. 

This 2022 lot, processed with a controlled 24-hour natural fermentation before being fully-washed, continues to represent CGLE’s commitment to consistent, high-quality coffee production. This coffee presents a notably complex and layered taste that has significantly evolved from its previous iterations, moving from a clean, crisp profile to a robust, full-flavoured cup, reminiscent of the Makicuna, Ecuador Sidra, a past favourite at our roastery. 

Cultivated at 1,860 MASL, the ideal growing conditions ensure a vibrant and complex cup, reflecting CGLE Estate’s ongoing innovation and excellence in coffee production.
