It is a thrill to once again present the outstanding achievements of the Peterson family and the magical Hacienda La Esmeralda, represented in 2022 by this exquisite washed-process Esmeralda Gesha lot.
We feel truly privileged in the selection process for Limited Release Rare 011. With the farm having been meticulously divided into nano-lots, we were provided with samples of the very highest-scoring crops from across the estate, allowing us to carefully select and reserve the finest among them. No easy task as I’m sure you can imagine.
The final profile is everything we could hope for from an exceptional washed Gesha. A bouquet of florals, delicate spices, complex layers of blossom and citrus with a light, silky mouthfeel.
This stunning coffee completes another year in our LRR series. An exploration of the globe’s finest producers, a peek at experimental processes, unique cultivars and classics, and another chance to enjoy the very best offerings from the specialty-coffee world.
In nitrogen-flushed, valveless bags, oxygen content is reduced to under 3%, preserving optimal quality for up to 9 months.
