We want every coffee pod enjoyed to be recycled. That’s why we’re a member of Podback, the UK’s coffee pod recycling service.

Simply add a free Podback recycling bag to your basket when you buy your pods, then drop your full bag off at your nearest collection point. It’s that easy!

Podback recycles aluminium pods into new items and the coffee grounds are transformed into renewable energy (biogas) and soil improver.

Please use the online Recycle Checker and interactive map to find your nearest recycling points.

The map shows local supermarkets and council recycling centres where you can drop-off your pods. Click on your chosen location for details of how to recycle at that location.

There is no need to empty your pods, but please drain any remaining liquid from them before putting them in your recycling bag.

Coffee grains are removed at the recycling facility, and taken to a food waste recycling plant where they are transformed into renewable energy (biogas) and soil improver.

The white Podback bags will hold up to 120 used (Nespresso Compatible) pods.

Please ensure your bag has been drained of any liquid before sealing the bag, using both the grip seal and adhesive strip.

We are proud to announce Colonna as a member of Podback, allowing all our UK customers a free, straight-forward and effective method of recycling their aluminium capsules.

Here’s how:

Drainall excess liquid from your used coffee capsules before placing them in the bag. This service is for aluminium capsules only, all plastic or compostable capsules will need to be recycledthrough alternative services.
Once the bag is full to the dotted line with capsules, remove any excess liquid from the bag before sealing.
Seal the bag by firmly pressing the grip seal at top of the bag. Next, peel off the white strip and press the adhesive firmly. Ensure both seals are closed tight.
