Estribi Santa Teresa Gesha

A cup of abundant fresh floral notes and juicy acidity, leading to a long delicately-sweet finish.

With this latest stunning Gesha instalment we journey to the idyllic Finca Santa Teresa. On the Estribi plot, bronze and green-tipped Gesha plants mature under the shade of mature native-trees and bask in the warm glow of Panama’s evening sun. With rolling cloud forests, Volcán Barú (Panama’s highest peak) and La Amistad National Park neighbouring the farm, you would be hard-pressed to find a more picturesque location for the cultivation of these delicate specialty lots.

Producing a number of premium varietals and cultivar the honed skills of the team are regularly rewarded in the Best Of Panama competitions, with more than a dozen awards attributed to the farm in the past decade. Rich volcanic soils, high altitudes and agreeable weather patterns driven by the Pacific and Atlantic create an ideal location, with crops flourishing year on year and producing incredible results in the cup.

Sustainability at Santa Teresa is paramount and is woven into every decision made on the farm. Working to strike a harmonious balance with the precious ecologic make-up of the area has led to hugely successful reforestation programmes - planting seeds from the forest in their nursery for future planting, and the re-use of organic matter from processing as natural compost and fertilizer. As a haven for wildlife, particularly the many species of birds who nest here, work is always started with a view to creating the lowest possible impact on the area.

The Gesha cherries of this natural lot are picked at full-ripeness and within hours have been evenly spread across high-beds under the high-altitude sun. With cherries turned every hour for even drying, this process is incredible intensive and lasts between 4 and 6 weeks. The beans are finally dried through dedicated ovens, helping exact evenness of moisture before the final hulling stage begins.

Store in a cool, dry place.

In nitrogen-flushed, valveless bags, oxygen content is reduced to under 3%, preserving optimal quality for up to 9 months.

Once open we recommend using within 7 days.

These coffees are shipped within 4 weeks of roasting and packing.

Free UK shipping for all orders £35 and over. Shipping costs calculated at checkout - tracked options available.
